When the wearer lifts their arms, it looks like they have batwings. Because of how the sleeves are set into the shirt, they are usually long or 3/4 length sleeves. The body of the shirt can be either tight or loose-fitting. 

Peplum

A peplum top is usually fitted to the waist. The shirt then flares at the waist from a band to end up loosely down by the hips. The peplum itself can be very flowy, or it can be more fitted. These tops look good on most people and can give a person the look of an hourglass figure, especially when paired with a fitted bottom. People who feel a little self-conscious about their midsection may like the disguising aspect of the peplum.
